NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Great Midwest champ and regional top seed Walsh rolled past Davenport Friday night in convincing fashion to advance to the regional semis. Hillsdale, the No. 3 seed, also won 68-61 over Cedarville. Findlay's season came to an end with an 87-81 loss to Ferris State.
Walsh (24-6) routed Davenport 82-56 with six players scoring in double digits. WU limited DU to 38 percent shooting and had a 17-point lead at the half. Garrison Keeslar put up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tim Smith Jr. scored a team-high 16. Walsh advanced to play UM-St. Louis on Saturday.
HIllsdale (21-7) got 20 points from Great Midwest Player of the Year Patrick Cartier and held Cedarville to 35 percent shooting in the victory. The game was a rematch of a tight 68-66 conference semifinal won by CU on March 4.
Walsh and Hillsdale will play Saturday for a berth in the regional final on the line.
