INDIANAPOLIS – Eleven student-athletes across eight sports were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27. Conference basketball teams are shaping up for the postseason, wrestling had its super regional and spring sports are now in full swing. Below are all of this week's honorees.

Men's Basketball
Patrick Cartier - Hillsdale / Jr. / Forward / Brookfield, Wisconsin
Cartier averaged 21.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in a pair of wins for HC while shooting nearly 74 percent in the two games. Cartier, who leads the conference and ranks 12th nationally in scoring, helped HC to the No. 2 seed and a bye into the semis for this week's men's basketball championship. 

Women's Basketball
Mayci Sales - Walsh / Grad / Forward / Massillon, Ohio
Sales averaged a double-double as Walsh closed the regular season with a pair of wins. She averaged 19.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks while shooting 50 percent in wins over ODU and Cedarville. Sales's efforts helped Walsh clinch the No. 2 seed and the bye into the semis for this week's women's basketball championship.

Baseball
Tim Zeller - Ashland / Sr. / Infield / Mount Vernon, Ohio
Zeller was a standout at the plate and on the mound as Ashland went 4-0 over the weekend. Zeller hit a blistering .667 with seven extra-base hits (2 HRs) and 11 runs scored. Zeller also got eight outs on the mound and earned a relief win, striking out five.

Justin Campbell - Trevecca Nazarene / Sr. / Pitcher / Troy, Michigan
Campbell tossed a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Truman State. He struck out six and allowed five baserunners in the 7-inning victory. TNU went 4-0 over the weekend. 

Softball
Maddie Woods - Tiffin / So. / Infield / Millersburg, Ohio
Woods hit .455 with four doubles, five RBI and six walks to lead Tiffin to a 3-1 weekend in Florida. Over four games, the sophomore compiled a .647 on-base percentage.

Casey Bertke - Cedarville / So. / Pitcher / Cardington, Ohio
Bertke pitched 12 innings and allowed just three earned runs and struck out eight over a pair of starts for Cedarville. She tossed a one-hit shutout to beat Lindenwood on Saturday.

Men's Tennis
Brennan Cimpeanu - Hillsdale / So. / Troy, Michigan
Cimpeanu returned from injury this week grabbing two wins over Northwood. First, partnering with Daniel Gilbert at No. 2 doubles to win 6-3 and secure the doubles point. The sophomore then picked up a critical win at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-3) helping the Chargers to a 4-3 win over the Timberwolves.

Women's Tennis
Alessandra Maganuco - Tiffin / Grad / Gela, Italy
Maganuco finished her week unbeaten for the Dragons. In her first matchups of the week, the grad student beat Purdue-Northwest (6-4, 6-3) in singles and 6-1 in doubles. Maganuco then grabbed another singles victory over Lewis (6-7, 1-0 (ret.)) and a doubles win over the Flyers, 6-4.

Wrestling
Nicholas Mason - Tiffin / Sr. / 197 LB. / Shelby Township, Michigan
Mason won his fourth region championship at 197 pounds with unbeaten run highlighted by three falls. The senior pinned his opponent from Bluefield State in 2:36, flattened Davenport in 2:03, and pinned West Liberty in 1:29. Mason won the title via medical forfeit over Ashland. He also retook the NCAA Division II national lead in pins with his three falls over the weekend.

Women's Lacrosse
Hannah McFeeters - Walsh / Sr. / Attack / Pickerington, Ohio
Walsh went 1-1 on the opening week of play with a win over Charleston and a loss to No. 10 Roberts Wesleyan. During that stretch, McFeeters tallied ten points, nine goals and one assist. She also added six ground balls, 12 draw controls and two caused turnovers. In the Cavaliers win over Charleston, the senior attack became the school's all-time leading scorer when she netted six goals,

Melinda Maers - Walsh / Jr. / Midfield / Allison Park, Pennsylvania
During two games with week for the Cavaliers, Maers tallied six ground balls, six draw controls and forced six turnovers. The junior mid also added five points on four goals in Walsh's first two contests on the season.

Men's Lacrosse
Ethan Landymore - Mercyhurst / So. / Attack / Calgary, Alberta
No. 6 Mercyhurst grabbed a win over No. 17 Lewis this week before falling in a close match against against top-ranked Le Moyne, 10-9. Landymore tallied nine goals and one assist to lead the Lakers with ten points over those two games. Additionally, the sophomore had seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. 

Brett Olney - Mercyhurst / Jr. / Goalkeeper / Rochester, New York
Olney recorded 16 saves in each of the Lakers two games played last week going 1-1 in those contests. The junior saved 68% (32-47) of shots that were put on target and recorded four ground balls.
