Walsh Men Make Jump, Ashland Women Hold in Second Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest basketball teams held strong in the second regional rankings of the 2022 season. The men were represented with five teams while the women had three in the Midwest Regional Rankings released Wednesday. The top eight teams from the final rankings in each region will advance to the national tournament. The final rankings are set to be annouced on Sunday, March 6.
 
After an impressive week on the hardcourt, the Walsh men have moved up two spots to No. 2 in the Midwest Regional Rankings behind Truman State, who held strong in the top spot for the second week in a row. Hillsdale fell one spot to No. 4 in this week’s rankings while Findlay, Ashland, and Malone saw no change in their rank from last week.

Despite losing its first conference game of the season, Ashland remained at No. 2 in the latest women’s regional rankings. Following behind the Eagles is Walsh at No. 4. The only Great Midwest team that saw any change in its regional rank this week was Kentucky Wesleyan who jumped two spots to No. 8.
