Great Midwest Earns Eight Spots in Initial Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference saw eight of its basketball teams in the first NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings of 2022. The top eight teams from each region earn a spot in the national tournament. The final rankings will be announced on Sunday, March 6.
 
On the men’s side, Hillsdale led the way at No. 3 in the first rankings of the season with a 16-6, in-region record. Rounding out the top ten were Walsh, Findlay, Ashland and Malone.

For the women, Ashland came in at No. 2 behind Grand Valley State. The Eagles hold a 21-1, in-region record and are unbeaten in conference play. Walsh and Kentucky Wesleyan also earned spots in the initial women’s basketball rankings.
