Football
Defense: Daishaun Hill/ Ohio Dominican University / Jr. / Defensive Back / Rocky River, Ohio
Daishaun Hill posted a strong defensive effort in Ohio Dominican’s win over Northwood. He registered 11 solo tackles and three assisted for 14 on the day as well as one interception. Hill’s 14 tackles is tied for third most in the conference in a single-game.
Offense: Andrew Wolf/ Ohio Dominican University / Gr. / Wide Receiver/ Ashland, Ohio
Andrew Wolf joins teammate Daishaun Hill as this week’s Offensive Athlete of the Week. Wold grabbed nine catches for 21 0 receiving yards. He collected four touchdowns, including an 80-yard reception. The Ashland, Ohio native ranks third in the conference in receiving yards with 98.0 per game.
Special Teams: Nick Basile / Tiffin University / Fr. / Kicker / York, PA
Nick Basile accounted for 18 of Tiffin’s 72 points in a conference win over Kentucky Wesleyan. On the day, Basile was three-for-three from field goal range and nine-for-nine on extra points. He hit field goals for 31, 34, and 24 yards, respectively.
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Amar Sapcanin / Ashland University / Sr. / Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Amar Sapcanin dominated in meets against Notre Dame College and Oberlin over the weekend. Against Oberlin, Sapcanin won the men’s 200 individual medley as well as the 200 breaststroke. He recorded a time of 2:00.42 in the IM and 2:15.24 in the breaststroke. Against Oberlin, he placed first in the 75-yard breaststroke with a time of 42.35 seconds. Sapcanin also placed first in the 150 breaststroke and 100 individual medley.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Abby Locke/ Ashland University / Sr. / Indianapolis, IN / Springboro, Ohio
Senior Abby Locke found herself at the top of the podium in a number of events over the weekend. Locke earned first-place honors in the 200 individual medley, 200 breaststroke, and 400 medley relay. She won the 150 butterfly, 150 breaststroke, and 100 individual medley against Oberlin College.
Volleyball
North
Defense: Alli Wiese/ Hillsdale College/ So. / Libero / Mattawan, Mich.
Alli Wiese had an impressive statline in wins over Walsh and Malone. She recorded 68 digs across two matches, including 40 against Walsh. Wiese’s 40 digs tied Hillsdale’s program record for a digs in a single match. Additionally, she also added four aces in the victory over Malone. She leads the league on digs per set at 5.46 and ranks in the Top 10 on the national level. So far this season, Wiese has broken the single-season program record for digs with 628 on the year.
Offense: Karoline Shelton/ Hillsdale College / Sr. / Outside Hitter / Shawnee, KS
Karoline Shelton joins Wiese as this week’s North Division Offensive Athlete of the Week. Shelton tabbed 38 kills, 18 digs, and five blocks through two matches. Her .340 hitting percentage helped the Chargers secure the North Division title.
South
Defense: Diana Heitkamp / Tiffin University / So. / Libero / New Bremen, Ohio
The sophomore Libero helped the Dragons go 1-1 in their final matches of the regular season. Diana Heitkamp totaled 48 digs at 6.86 per set. She also added four service aces.
Offense: Cassi Shileds / Cedarville University / Fr. / Outside Hitter / Westminster, MD
Cassi Shileds posted a career-high 21 kills in a win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Shileds then set a new career-high with 23 kills in the following match against Trevecca Nazarene.
Wrestling
Walker Uhl/ Ashland University / So. / Millersburg, Ohio
Walker Uhl was selected as Athlete of the Week for wrestling after a 5-0 performance at the Pioneer Duals. Uhl is ranked seventh in the country at 197 and helped Ashland to a 4-1 record at Glenville State. He registered three pins to end the day with a 5-0 individual record.
