INDIANAPOLIS--The Great Midwest Athletes of the week for November 28, 2022 are based on student-athlete performance from November 22, 2022-November 27, 2022.
 
Men’s Basketball
Jayvon Maughmer/ Cedarville University / Jr. / Forward / Chillicothe, Ohio
Jayvon Maughmer helped the Yellow Jackets improve to 5-1 on the year with wins over Wilberforce and Purdue Northwest. Against Wilberforce, Maughmer scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He also dished out three assists and had one steal. The 6-6 junior posted an impressive stat line against Purdue Northwest with 21 points, four rebounds, five assists, and five steals. He currently ranks third in the league in scoring at 19.2 points per game.
 
Women’s Basketball
Gabby Stare/ Ohio Dominican University / Jr. / Guard / Newark, Ohio
Gabby Stare averaged 35.5 points over the weekend in games against Maryville and UIndy. Stare poured in 34 points in a victory over Maryville and also had six steals and three assists. She tied her career-high in points against UIndy as she totaled 37 on the day. Stare is the scoring leader in the Great Midwest, averaging 26.4 points through five games.
 
Men’s Bowler of the Month
Jordan Norris/ Walsh University / So. / Canton, Ohio
Norris finished as the tournament MVP at the AHBA #3 tournament. He also broke the program record through five matches as he bowled 1158.
 
Women’s Bowler of the Month
Daylin Tolgo / Kentucky Wesleyan College / So. / Madison, Ala.
Daylin Tolgo averaged a score of 182.9 through 20 games for the Panthers She earned first place honors and all-tournament team at the Bulldog Bash. Tolgo defeated all participants in the tournament.
