INDIANAPOLIS—The Ashland University football team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Football Championship after defeating Notre Dame College last Saturday (Nov. 19).
The 20-13 win over Notre Dame College is Ashland’s third post-season victory in program history. Larry Martin rushed for 135 yards on 25 carries as Ashland totaled 224 yards on the ground. Ashland’s defense held Notre Dame to 300 yards of offense and only 13 points on the day.
Ashland will face top-seeded Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in the semi-final round of Super Region One. The Crimson Hawks posted a regular season record of 9-1 and a 6-1 record in conference play. IUP was crowned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) regular season champions and earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Division II Championship.
Saturday’s game is set to take place at Miller Stadium in Indiana, PA. at 1:00 P.M. ET
