INDIANAPOLIS -- Ashland debuts at No. 3 in the first Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Coaches Poll of the regular season. The poll, released on Tuesday afternoon, slots the Eagles behind No. 1 Grand Valley State and No. 2 West Texas A&M with 493 total points.
Ashland is off to another hot start on the hard court this winter boasting a 4-0 record heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. That hot start jumped the Eagles two spots from No. 5 in the WBCA Preseason Poll released Nov. 1.
The Eagles grabbed road wins over Wayne State and Indianapolis to start their 2022-23 campaign before picking up back-to-back home victories over Saginaw Valley State and Lewis.
Ashland will travel to Springfield, Mo. this week for the Drury Thanksgiving classic. The Eagles will meet Truman State and No. 7 Drury as part of the holiday tournament.
