The Chargers are no longer sneaking up on anyone with their second-place tie in the current conference standings after picking up wins over Ursuline and Lake Erie. Hillsdale upped its current win streak to six straight and improved to 8-4 overall.
Mills fully averaged a double-double in 2020-21 while earning second team all-conference accolades, a rare feat that resulted in being the only player in the conference to do so.
She produced numbers that were similar to last year’s totals with an impressive showing of 19 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
Mills already carved out a reputation as a relentless glass eater after averaging 10.4 rpg last year while also leading the team in scoring.
On the road, Mills had a 21-point game to help slow down a strong Ursuline program with two of the league’s top scorers, Bekah Green and Michaela Cloonan. She was 8-of-12 from the field and made a trio of three pointers. Mills completed the double-double with 12 rebounds with two of the offensive variety.
The junior forward then posted 17 points and 17 rebounds in Hillsdale’s first game of 2022 in a double-digit victory over Lake Erie. She was deadly again from long range with four threes and added four assists.
Mills is top 20 in Division II among all players in rebounding. She is the current league leader at 11.2 rebounds per game and as a team, Hillsdale leads all programs with 39.5 rebounds per contest.
