INDIANAPOLIS – Malone and Hillsdale have earned Great Midwest Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week honors.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Oliver Ehmann
Malone
Sophomore
Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (Freiburg Gymnasium)
 
Ehmann helped score points for Malone this past weekend during the Pioneers meet with Notre Dame College.
 
The sophomore tied for first place in the 50 freestyle event with a time of 23.06.
 
Ehmann then followed that performance with another first place finish in the 100 backstroke on Saturday with a time of 58.53.
 
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Leah Tunney
Hillsdale

Mequon, WI (Homestead HS)
 
Hillsdale extended its dual meet win streak to 15 this weekend with wins over Davenport and Division III Calvin, who is ranked No. 24 in the country. The tri-meet win moves the Chargers to 11-0 on the season.
 
Tunney played a huge role in those results helping the team to victories in three separate events over the weekend.
 
The junior grabbed first place finishes in both the 500 freestyle (5:12.57) and the 200 freestyle (1:55.79).
 
Tunney also swam a leg on the Chargers 200 freestyle relay which earned the top spot on the podium with a time of 1:39.54.
