INDIANAPOLIS – Ashland and Hillsdale were voted for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week performances as competition in the calendar officially commenced.

Ashland competed in a tri-meet against Hillsdale (women only) and against Saginaw Valley State as Aleksi scored his second conference weekly honor of the 2021-22 season.
 
The junior recorded one of Ashland’s three first-place finishes in the water along with teammates Josh Hagan and Amar Sapcanin.
 
Aleksi touched the wall first in the 1,000 freestyle while posting a top 10 combined conference time with the Mountain East with a finish in 9:49.97.
 
Aleksi also was runner-up in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:53.00.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week

The Chargers picked up two more head-to-head victories against Saginaw Valley State and conference member Ashland in a home tri-meet.
 
Guadalupi was a contributor in three different event wins including the 200 medley relay, the 100 freestyle and 200 breaststroke.
 
She combined with Emma Dickhudt, Anika Fassett and Marie Taylor, for a relay victory in a time of 1:51.34.
 
Guadalupi then won by over a full second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.52 and edged out her teammate by less than half a second in photo finish during the 200 breaststroke.
