INDIANAPOLIS – The new calendar year of competition was underway for five institutions as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards were announced on Wednesday.

Riley and the Chargers were competing against Ashland and Findlay in the first meet of 2022 as a triangular format.
 
The sophomore ran a 2:20.02 in her first indoor event after helping Hillsdale to a national championship appearance in cross country during the fall.
 
Riley posted the top time in the Great Midwest so far this year in the 800, an event that has a number of program standouts including Abbie Porter and Calli Townsend.
 
Hillsdale has five of the top six 800-meter dash times in the conference so far this season.

Green became the new conference record holder (breaking her own record) in the triple jump as she swept a pair of event wins at the triangular featuring the Oilers, Hillsdale and Ashland.
 
The junior outdoor conference champion and indoor runner-up posted the top mark in the conference with an 11.83m recording in the triple jump. She also won the long jump with a distance of 5.43m.
 
Green also provisionally qualified for nationals and currently ranks No. 17 in Division II. It represented a new indoor PR for Green, whose previous college best was 11.73m at the Tiffin Dragon Grand Prix last year.
