Volleyball Players of the Week - North Division (Sep. 21)

INDIANAPOLIS – Findlay and nationally ranked Hillsdale each earned respective victories over opponents to collect Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the North Division as announced on Tuesday.

Blevins is a repeat selection for offensive honors and quickly cementing her reputation as a fierce hitter up front for the Oilers as a freshman.
 
The Oilers swept both Walsh and Malone in Croy Gymnasium to improve their season record to 5-1 overall.
 
On Friday, Blevins ripped a team leading 17 kills on 45 swings to help blank Walsh. She also had a pair of solo blocks and was credited with two digs and one assist.
 
Versus Malone on Saturday, Blevins ripped a match high 16 kills and had a hitting percentage of .500 with only 26 attack attempts.
 
Blevins leads the league currently in points per set (4.59) and kills per set (4.41) while ranking second in attacking percentage (.369) in 22 sets played.

Wiese was another back-to-back player of the week for the Chargers, who moved up one spot in the AVCA Poll to No. 17 in Division II. Hillsdale beat the same opponents as Findlay, albeit by 3-1 scores to open up divisional conference play.
 
Wiese went over 200 digs on the year while averaging 5.87 per set in the two HC wins that pushed the program’s record to 8-2 overall.
 
Wiese handled 19 attack attempts against Malone on Friday and dropped in a pair of service aces as the Pioneers hit .141 as a team.
 
Hillsdale’s defense was staunch against Walsh as well with the Cavaliers managing a .137 hitting clip. Wiese scooped out 28 digs in the four-set final and also had an assist.
 
Wiese has maintained the lead in the Great Midwest in digs per set in the season to date with a current average of 5.58.
