Women’s Soccer Players of the Week (Sep. 13)

INDIANAPOLIS – After a win and a tie, Trevecca Nazarene received both Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week honors that were announced on Monday afternoon.
 
The conference schedule officially launches this week on Thursday as games start counting towards the standings.

The Trojans put one in the win column against Alabama-Huntsville and salvaged a double overtime draw against Carson-Newman. TNU started the fall with tough matchups against Southern Indiana and on the road at nationally ranked Lee.
 
Roy netted a pair of goals against the Chargers, including the game winner that came in the 86th minute.
 
She also scored earlier in the second half, knotting the score at 1-1 after UAH marked the first goal in the opening half.
 
Roy scored on both shots attempted and helped create multiple opportunities for her teammates against Carson-Newman. The Trojans managed eight shots as each team managed to score in the second half.

Holman capitalized on her second start of the season by helping the Trojans tie Carson-Newman despite the shot advantage being 23-8 in favor of the Eagles.
 
The senior keeper recorded 10 saves while logging all possible 110 minutes. Holman faced eight shots in both overtime periods combined and was credited with seven stops.
 
Holman has a 1.35 goals against average while making 18 total saves in her two starts this season.
