INDIANAPOLIS – Former Great Midwest Athletic Conference standouts Ashton Dulin (Malone) and Keelan Cole Sr. (Kentucky Wesleyan) officially made the opening day rosters for the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets going into the 2021 NFL season.
Dulin and Cole Sr. were on the 53-man list that teams announced as the four-week preseason came to a close.
Dulin, from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is entering his third year as a professional. He is listed as a wide receiver and has carved out a niche role on special teams as a gunner while thriving in kickoff and punt return units.
Dulin was an undrafted free agent signed in 2019 by the Colts. The Colts will be carrying six wide receivers on their opening day roster.
Dulin has played in two professional seasons and appeared in 26 games. He has made five receptions for a total of 70 yards while making 12 tackles.
The former Kentucky Wesleyan wide receiver Cole Sr. is entering his fifth year at the professional level, this time with the Jets. Cole Sr. played the first four years of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Teams are actively continuing to round out their practice squads. Another name to keep an eye on is former Tiffin running back JaQuan Hardy, who completed the preseason with the Dallas Cowboys and has been featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” during training camp. Former Findlay wide receiver Jason Moore, who was with the Los Angeles Chargers, was among those waived on Monday.
