Official CoSIDA Announcement
INDIANAPOLIS – Representing Super Region 1, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference had five student-athletes on the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Football Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The CoSIDA Academic All-American program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
Those honorees on the Academic All-American team will be announced in early July.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams are partially financially supported by the Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 All-America programs.
Ohio Dominican (2) and Hillsdale (3) each had individuals honored to the First Team Academic All-District Team this spring.
Ohio Dominican was featured by senior quarterback Evan Ernst, from Mason, Ohio, who has a 4.00 GPA in Finance and senior specialist Jed Quackenbush, who has posted a 3.44 GPA in Exercise Science. Quackenbush is from Newark, Ohio.
Hillsdale led the Great Midwest with three names, offensive lineman Cole Johnson, defensive back Alex Anschutz and wide receiver Konnor Maloney.
Maloney is a senior has a 3.68 GPA in Exercise Science and is a native of Lansing, Mich. Johnson is from Grand Ledge, Mich., and checks in with a 3.81 GPA in Financial Management while Anschutz, from Grand Rapids, has posted a 3.84 GPA in Biochemistry throughout his senior campaign.
