INDIANAPOLIS - After a perfect run through the championship tournament bracket, Ohio Dominican earns a pair of Great Midwest Softball Player of the Week honors released Tuesday. 

Ohio Dominican was the No. 6 seed entering the eight-team tournament held in Findlay, Ohio on May 6-8. The Panthers defeated Malone (5-4) and Ursuline (13-1) on the first day of the tournament. They advanced past Tiffin on day two (5-3) and defeated Trevecca (4-2) in the championship game on Saturday.

Throughout the tournament, Hackerd was 5-14 (.357) with three RBI and one stolen base. Her best game of the tournament came against Tiffin, where she doubled to centerfield in the top of the second inning scoring three runs. Hackerd’s double came with two outs and started the Panther’s rally. 

The senior ranks 15th in the league in batting average at .361. She has 52 hits on the season, including 18 extra-base hits. She has a slugging percentage of .528 and an on-base percentage of .418. 

Hackerd was named to the All-Conference First Team.

Long pitched three complete games in the tournament, earning wins over Malone, Tiffin and Trevecca in the circle. The junior faced 96 batters over three days, striking out 22. 

In the first game of the tournament, Malone took ODU to nine innings. Long struck out nine batters, only walked one and allowed four earned runs. Against Tiffin, She struck out five, walked two batters, while only giving up one earned run. In the championship game, Long struck out eight, gave up two earned runs and did not walk any batters.

Long is 16-9 on the season with a 2.07 ERA, the third-best ERA in the conference. She has 139 strikeouts through 162 innings pitched this spring. Long was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
