INDIANAPOLIS - Tiffin and Malone earn Great Midwest Softball Player of the Week honors, announced Wednesday afternoon.

Tiffin swept series with Lake Erie and Walsh over the weekend to improve to 12-6 in the conference (18-14 overall), as the Dragons currently sit third in the league standings. 

Malone picked up a pair of wins over non-conference opponent, Carlow. The Pioneers then added two more wins over Walsh to improve to 13-7 in the conference (21-8-1 overall) and are fourth in the standings.

The Dragons have won eight of their last ten games after beating Lake Erie (3-2, 7-2) and Walsh (12-2, 7-1). 

Brooke Lambert hit .500 on the week, including two doubles and a home run. She batted in seven runs and scored eight runs while posting a .917 slugging percentage and .a 600 on base percentage.

In the first game of the series with Walsh, the bats were hot for the Dragons as they totaled twelve runs. Lambert accounted for five of those runs, including a grand slam in the sixth inning. 

On the season, Lambert has 36 hits with a batting average of .350. She has 12 doubles, one triple and three home runs.

Alliance, Ohio (West Branch HS)

Kelsey Byers had a 3-0 week in the circle, pitching 21 innings. Byers struck out 23 batters while only allowing nine hits and two earned runs. She walked three batters.

The junior picked up a 4-1 win over Carlow, pitching a complete game where she struck out eight batters. Byers pitched two more complete games against Walsh to total 19 complete games pitched this season. In game one at Walsh, Byers struck out 12 of 22 batters faced to earn the 7-1 win. She earned a 4-1 win in game two. 

Byers improves to 19-6 on the season with the third-best ERA in the league (1.92). She has struck out a conference-best 190 batters this season.
