INDIANAPOLIS - Malone and Findlay earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week honors as announced on Thursday.

Malone swept Ohio Valley and split with Ohio Dominican last week to improve to 8-6 in conference play. Bailey Byers continued to prove that she is one of the top hitters in the league, as she was 6-of-13 at the plate including 3 home runs and 1 double with one walk. 

The Pioneers defeated Ohio Valley 14-2 and 11-0. Byers connected for a three-run homer in the third inning and added a solo home run in the fifth inning of the first game. Byers started the scoring for the Pioneers in the second game of the series with a solo home run in the first inning. She finished the game with two hits, two runs and two RBI.

Malone fell to Ohio Dominican 1-2 in the first game of the series but bounced back to shut out the Panthers in the second game, 2-0. Byers was 2-of-3 at the plate in the first game, including a double. 

The senior has the second-best batting average in the league at .493. She's accumulated 34 hits so far this season, including nine doubles, one triple and eight home runs. She has a conference-best slugging percentage of .927

Findlay swept respective series with Lake Erie (6-1, 7-0) and Kentucky Wesleyan (2-0, 6-5) last week. Megan Fisher pitched two complete games on the week, only allowing one run and eight hits. She struck out 18 batters while only walking one. 

Fisher pitched the first game of the series with Lake Erie. She struck out six batters while only allowing three hits, one run and one walk. In the 2-0 shutout over KWC, Fisher faced 26 batters, striking out a career-best 12 batters. 

The senior also batted in the Oilers' lineup, going 6-of-12 at the plate including one home run and one double.

Fisher ranks eighth in the league with an ERA of 2.59. She is 6-6 on the season.
