INDIANAPOLIS – Top-10 record book efforts landed Malone and Hillsdale the new set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week honors as announced on Tuesday morning.

Track Athlete of the Week
Hannah Thompson
Malone
Distance
Graduate Student
Canton, OH (GlenOak HS)

After breaking the conference 10K record in her outdoor season debut at the Littlefield Texas Relays, Thompson nearly did the same with the 5K distance while competing at the Flames Invitational hosted by Lee University.

Thompson collected track honors for the second time in three opportunities with a new school record and the second-fastest time registered in conference history.

She finished runner-up individually with a provisional time of 16:32.92, which currently ranks sixth in Division II this spring.

Historically, she only trails former Walsh standout Sarah Berger at the top of the Great Midwest records from a 16:18.85 set in 2018.

Field Athlete of the Week
Eden Little
Hillsdale
Javelin
Freshman
Ava, MO (Ava HS)

Little put in a very impressive bid for a new conference record in the javelin at the Hillsdale Outdoor Invitational.

The freshman launched 42.24m, which marked a PR and was just shy of the 42.28 from Walsh’s Romi Smith.

Going into the spring, Little has already broken the previous conference record by Kentucky Wesleyan’s Jessica Hines two different times.

Little also posted a 40.50m mark in her collegiate debut at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Invitational, which ranked second in conference history at the time.
