INDIANAPOLIS - Following the completion of the regular season, Cedarville earns Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, announced Monday afternoon. 

The Yellow Jackets finished at 18-4 to secure the outright regular season conference championship. Based on the Point Rating System (PRS), Cedarville also earned the No. 1 seed in the post-season tournament. Kentucky Wesleyan is the No. 2 seed, Walsh is No. 3 and Ohio Dominican is the No. 4 seed, all four teams are set to host quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday afternoon. Their respective opponents are No. 5 Tiffin, No. 6 Findlay, No. 7 Trevecca and No. 8 Malone.

The final four of the bracket will then compete for a championship title at the highest remaining seed on Friday and Saturday. Times and location will be announced following tomorrow’s opening-round games.

Cedarville is receiving votes in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll and are one of four Great Midwest teams included in the NCAA Atlantic Region ‘Under Consideration’ rankings. Kentucky Wesleyan, Ohio Dominican and Walsh are the other three conference teams that are being considered.

Chapman helped her team to a 92-72 win at Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon to secure the regular season conference championship. The junior poured in a career-best 31 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including six three’s. The 5-5 guard also grabbed an impressive nine rebounds, while adding two steals and two assists. 

Chapman is 13th in the league in scoring with 14.6 ppg. She shots the ball at a very high percentage, as she ranks second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.459) and third in overall field goal percentage (.542). She also ranks second in the league in assist/turnover ratio (2.9). 

The Yellow Jackets have earned weekly honors three times this season, as Chapman joins teammate Ashlyn Huffman who earned the award twice this season.
