INDIANAPOLIS - The second WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll of the season was released on Tuesday, with Cedarville ranked No. 17.
Cedarville was ranked No. 9 in the first WBCA poll of the season that was released one week ago, but fell eight places after losing to Tiffin last week.
The Yellow Jackets sit at 15-2 on the season after a 15-game winning streak was snapped by Tiffin on Saturday. Earlier in the week, Cedarville picked up an easy win over conference foe, Ohio Valley.
Cedarville leads the league in scoring, averaging 85.0 ppg, while holding opponents to an average of 68.4 ppg. They shoot the second best percentage in the league, behind Kentucky Wesleyan, at .458 percent and the best three-point percentage at .398.
Senior guard, Ashlyn Huffman, leads the Yellow Jackets with 15.1 ppg, which ranks eighth among league competitors. She also averages 5.7 assists per contest, the third-best number among the conference.
Sophomore Isabelle Bolender and Junior Emily Chapman give Cedarville other solid scoring options as both average about 13 ppg. Bolender shoots the fifth-best field goal percentage in the conference (.520) and Chapman shoots the second-best three-point percentage at .432.
Drury lost its first game of the season last week, dropping the previous favorite to No. 4, while Lubbock Christian moved into first-place this week at 9-0.
The Coaches Poll was based on teams’ records through Sunday (Feb. 7). Total points are based on 25 points for first place through one point for 25th.
The WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches Poll Committee is composed of one head coach from each of the 23 NCAA Division II conferences.
