WBCA Coaches Poll (Feb. 23)

NCAA DII Atlantic Region Rankings (Feb. 24)

INDIANAPOLIS -
Cedarville and Walsh are receiving votes in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll while the new “Under Consideration” rankings across the Atlantic Region were also released.

After moving down the WBCA rankings the past few weeks, Cedarville dropped out of this week’s poll, but is still receiving votes along with Walsh.

The NCAA released the second “Under Consideration” rankings, with no change in the Atlantic Region as far as Great Midwest schools are concerned. Cedarville, Kentucky Wesleyan, Ohio Dominican and Walsh remain in consideration, along with Charleston (West Virginia), Gannon, Glenville State and Notre Dame (Ohio).

In the final week of the regular season, Cedarville sits at the top of both the conference standings and the Point Rating System (PRS).

The Yellow Jackets are slated to play Hillsdale on Saturday in their final regular season contest. A win would secure Cedarville the outright regular season conference championship and potentially the No. 1 seed entering the conference tournament.

Walsh, Kentucky Wesleyan and Ohio Dominican sit at No. 2, 3 and 4, respectively, in the PRS, with two regular season contests remaining on each team’s schedule. The regular season will come to a close on Saturday with the bracket being announced later that evening.

The top eight teams in the final PRS total will qualify for the Great Midwest Championship tournament bracket, with the top four teams hosting a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 2.

The all-conference team and individual awards will be announced on Thursday afternoon in lieu of the traditional championship banquet at the final four site.
