INDIANAPOLIS - The Findlay men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams picked up two wins each over Malone last week, earning the Oilers a pair of Great Midwest Athlete of the Week honors, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Findlay and Malone swam in back-to-back dual meets Friday and Saturday, rotating sites. On Friday, the Oilers traveled to Canton where Findlay men defeated Malone 146-72 and Findlay women won 150-77. Saturday at Findlay, the Oilers swept again with men winning 176-92 and women winning 182-101 over Malone.

Tim Stollings had a record-setting day on Friday as he broke the Findlay and Great Midwest records in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly. His record-breaking times of 19.73 in the 50-yard freestyle and 46.45 in the 100-yard butterfly easily won him both events and reached NCAA automatic qualifying marks.
Stollings and teammates Daniel Garcia, Adam Hornak and Paul Pavala also won the 400-yard medley with a time of 3:24.89. Stollings leg in the 400-yard freestyle reached NCAA Division II “B” standard.
Stollings once again broke school and conference records on Saturday, winning the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. His time of 47.20 in the 100-yard backstroke set a new school and conference record, while achieving NCAA “B” standard. Stollings then broke his own record set a day prior in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 46.02. That mark was good enough to reach NCAA “A” standard.
The sophomore also swam a leg in two winning relay teams on Saturday. He teamed up with Pavala, Garcia and Kristofers Bregis to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:31.02. Stollings then joined Hornak, Bregis and Luca Chiandussi to win the 200-yard freestyle really in 1:23.27.
Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week

Kristina Coleman helped the Oilers to the team win on Friday with two wins of her own. She finished first with a time of 1:07.84 in the 100-yard breaststroke and joined teammates Chris McFarland, Zoey Fedele and Cecilia Langle to win the 400-yard medley in 3:56.96.
On Saturday, Coleman won two individual events and swam a leg in two winning relays. She won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:30.81 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.63. The junior teamed up with McFarland, Fedele and Grace Glaser to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:47.59. She then joined McFarland, Fedele and Megan Irwin to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.06.
