LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2021 NFCA Division II Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll was released with Trevecca Nazarene slotted 10th.

The NFCA DII Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA DII head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.

Southern Arkansas was the unanimous first-choice in the coaches poll, receiving 400 total points and all 16 first-place votes.

Trevecca received 258 total points in the poll. The Trojans moved up one spot from the final 2020 rankings, after finishing with a shortened season record of 15-3.

The Trojans are just the second Great Midwest Athletic Conference program to ever be ranked by the NFCA and the first to be ranked in the top ten.

Last season, the Trojans led the nation in hitting for the second year in a row, with a batting average of .380. Trevecca returns its top three hitters in Megan Groves, Lenna Robinson and MaKray Odom.

Groves led the league in hitting (.519), slugging percentage (.923) and RBI (29) during last spring’s shortened season.

Odom enters this season as the active career leader in hits among all three divisions. Her career batting average (.486) is the best in all of Division II and fifth best among all divisions.

Trevecca will open the 2021 season with Delta State University at the Charger Chill Out in Huntsville, Alabama on February 5.

The Great Midwest Preseason Coaches Poll will be announced this Thursday (Feb. 4), with the season preview being released soon after.
