Official CoSIDA Release

INDIANAPOLIS –
Three Great Midwest Athletic Conference women’s soccer student-athletes each earned a spot on the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for the 2021 season.

Representing District 4 on the first team in Division II was Ashland’s Tori Baker, Cedarville’s Mary Kate Wyer and Tiffin’s Kristen Dickision.

All three athletic/academic standouts were also voted to the all-conference team as either first or second-team selections from their exceptional performance in the regular season.

Baker is a senior defender for the Eagles who is majoring in Accounting with a cumulative 3.90 GPA. Wyer is a junior student-athlete at Cedarville who has a 3.99 GPA as a major in Nursing.
Dickison has a perfect 4.00 GPA for the Dragons and she is a senior pursuing her degree in Management.

Baker was a key piece of the puzzle while earning Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Year honors for the Eagles. The first team all-conference honoree helped Ashland to the regular season and conference tournament title while helping AU secure the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Championship bracket.

Baker had three game-winning shots and showed her offensive prowess with five goals recorded in the successful season.

Likewise for Wyer, she was a first team all-conference recipient at the midfield position but was sidelined in the Yellow Jackets’ NCAA tournament appearance vs. Grand Valley State with an injury. The talented junior was scored five goals and assisted on five others to serve as the co-league leader in that category in the fall of 2021.

Dickison became a feared offensive weapon around the conference this season and earned second team all-conference status after tying for second in the league in total points with 22. Dickison earned player of the week honors as well while recording 10 goals and two assists.

All three individuals are now eligible in the next step of voting for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.
