INDIANAPOLIS – Following an individual title earned at 165 pounds, Lake Erie was selected for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestling Athlete of the Week as announced on Friday morning.

Penfold is ranked No. 9 in Division II at his weight class and the Storm program is slotted in a tie for 14th in the NWCA/Intermat rankings.
 
Penfold had a dominant display at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational with a weight class title as he worked his way through the bracket in very short order for a 4-0 record.
 
For Penfold, it was three pins and a major decision to a title at 165 pounds as he joined fellow teammate Corey Gamet (133) to go through their brackets unbeaten.
 
Penfold pinned his first opponent in 1:37 and his next one about a minute later at 2:48. His major decision came in the semifinals and he earned a stick in under a minute (56 seconds) to finish off the day.
