INDIANAPOLIS – Findlay and Hillsdale both faced off against each other in the pool and received a share of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week awards on Friday.
Men’s Athlete of the Week

Montano Marrugo was the winner in three different events for the Oilers while defeating Lewis head-to-head by a count of 133-85 over the last week of competition.
The freshman impressed as he touched the wall first in the short spring 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay.
Montano Marrugo clocked a 46.94 in the 100 freestyle, 21.15 in the 50 freestyle.
He teamed with Tim Stollings, Dags Bregis and Angel Margaritov, to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:24.58.
Women’s Athlete of the Week

Zeeland, MI (Libertas Christian HS)
The Chargers scored team victories over No. 25 nationally ranked Findlay, 141-77, and defeated Lewis, 159-46, in a triangular meet.
Mason is another strong freshman in the class of Chargers’ newcomers as they remain unbeaten in head-to-head formats in the 2021-22 campaign.
Mason finished first in the 1,000 freestyle by a 13-second margin over the field with a time of 10:51.
She also finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:18 and helped the Chargers’ relay team in the medley relay to fourth when the margin was just 1.3 seconds from first place.
