Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 4)

INDIANAPOLIS - Ursuline picked up a pair of wins last week to earn Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors as announced Monday afternoon. 

The Arrows (3-3) are on a three-game winning streak, most recently defeating Hillsdale (0-5) on the road and Findlay (3-3) at home. 

Malone (2-4) defeated Lake Erie (0-2) in the Storm’s first game of the season. Lake Erie then fell to Ohio Dominican (3-1) on Saturday. 

Cedarville (6-1) picked up its sixth consecutive win, beating Tiffin (4-3), 79-65 and Kentucky Wesleyan (2-2) upset Walsh (3-2), 75-65. 

Conference play continues this afternoon with Hillsdale taking on Lake Erie, followed by Malone at Kentucky Wesleyan.

Green led the Arrows to two wins last week, averaging 20 points on 56 percent shooting to earn Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career. 

The 5-7 junior guard contributed on both ends of the court, averaging 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. 

Ursuline defeated Hillsdale on Thursday afternoon 85-80. Green led all scorers with 23 points, including 9-10 makes from the charity stripe. She also added three assists and one steal. 

On Saturday, Ursuline defeated Findlay for the second time this season. Green was just shy of a double-double, tallying 17 points and eight rebounds. She also contributed four assists and two steals. 

Green is averaging 12.3 ppg to tie her teammate Madison Cloonan as leading scorer for the Arrows. That mark puts both Green and Cloonan in the top 25 for scoring in the conference. Green also ranks third in the conference in free throw percentage at 87.5 percent.
