2019-20 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The final four teams attended Thursday evening’s banquet hosted by Walsh, where the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team was announced.

Walsh will serve as the host for Friday’s semifinal games and Saturday’s championship, as the Cavaliers are the regular season champs and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Walsh was presented with their regular season championship trophy following a perfect 18-0 season in the league.

The conference coaches cast their votes to determine the all-conference awards, consisting of first team, second team, all defensive team, and individual award winners.

Nationally ranked Walsh received its fair share of awards, as head coach Kate Bruce was named Coach of the Year and sophomore Sha Carter was named Player of the Year.

Bruce guided her team to an undefeated season in the conference and broke into the top 25 rankings for the first time in program history. The Cavaliers currently rank ninth in the nation and fourth in the Midwest region.

Carter leads the league in scoring with 18.9 points per game and field goal percentage at .589. She also averages 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals per contest. Carter was named G-MAC Player of the Week earlier this season.

Cedarville’s Isabelle Bolender was named Great Midwest Freshman of the Year. Bolender averaged 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game to help the Yellow Jackets to a 13-5 finish in the league and an appearance in the post-season tournament.

Seven of the student-athletes named to the first team all-conference were present at the banquet, with Walsh landing three (Sha Carter, Mayci Sales, and Tyler Newkirk) and Malone landing two (Holly Groff and Robin Campbell).
