INDIANAPOLIS - In what is turning out to be a laundry list of postseason awards for 2019-20, Lake Erie senior guard Gabe Kynard added another one to his career resume as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) published its all-district teams on Monday.
Kynard was named to the NABC All-District Midwest Region Team as a second-team selection as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference was represented once again.
Kynard was also the Great Midwest Player of the Year, a first team all-conference pick by the league’s coaches and was named to the D2CCA All-Midwest Region Team as well.
Through CoSIDA’s awards program, Kynard was also tabbed as a first team academic all-district selection for District 4. He then earned the highest distinction as a CoSIDA Academic All-American with his 3.85 GPA in Accounting.
Kynard was the lone player in the Great Midwest to average over 20 points per game and was among the league leaders in steals and free throw percentage.
Lake Erie qualified for the postseason tournament and finished with a 14-15 overall record.
