INDIANAPOLIS – The 2020 Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced the All-Midwest Region team and three student-athletes from the Great Midwest were represented.
Walsh University’s Sha Carter was named to the All-Midwest Region First Team after leading the conference in scoring at 18.8 points per game while shooting a league-best .579 percent from the floor.
The Great Midwest Player of the Year and All-Defense selection averaged 2.1 steals per contest and 7.3 rebounds. She reached double figures in all 30 games this season and surpassed the 1000-point milestone as a sophomore.
Carter is joined by teammate Mayci Sales, who was named to the All-Midwest Second Team. Sales earned First Team and All-Defensive honors in the G-MAC after averaging 16.9 points per game while making .527 percent of shot attempts.
The junior was slotted third in the league in rebounds with 8.4 rebounds per contest and third in blocks with 1.3 per game. Sales also reached 1,000 career points earlier this season.
Joining the Walsh duo is Keelie Lamb of Kentucky Wesleyan. Lamb was named to the All-Midwest Second Team after leading the Panthers with 14.2 points per game, while joining the 1,000-point club this season.
The G-MAC First Team selection averaged 5.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest and connected for .739 percent of free-throw attempts, ranking seventh-best in the conference in that category. The senior was named all-conference three times over the course of her career.
