INDIANAPOLIS – The regular season has concluded, and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship tournament opens up this week with quarterfinal games being played across the board on Tuesday.
Hillsdale and Tiffin received this week’s Great Midwest Player of the Week honors as announced Monday afternoon.

Cartier helped the Chargers to a share of the regular season title with a 59-54 win on the road over Findlay. Hillsdale finishes the regular season as the No. 1 seed (by virtue of the PRS totals) heading into the G-MAC quarterfinals, as they take on No. 8 seeded Kentucky Wesleyan.
The redshirt freshman led Hillsdale with a 16 point and 11 rebound double-double, while also contributing two assists and one block.
Cartier has been a solid presence for the Chargers all season, as he averages a team-best 15.8 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Cartier sits first in the conference in field goal percentage at .635 and ranks tenth in scoring.
This is Cartier’s second time this season being named the G-MAC Player of the Week, as he earned the honors the week of January 6th following a 28-point performance.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Cleveland Heights, OH (Cleveland Heights)
Tiffin upset No. 17 ranked Kentucky Wesleyan in double overtime this week in large part due to Nichols’ performance. The win secured the Dragons a spot in the post-season tournament.
The 5-7 guard contributed a 13 point and 15 rebound double-double, while also dishing out five assists.
Nichols averages 14.5 points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game, and 3.3 assists per game.
The sophomore ranks sixth in the conference in rebounds, seventh in assists, and 11th in scoring.
The Dragons are slotted as the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and will face No. 3 seeded Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday.
