INDIANAPOLIS – Lake Erie senior guard Gabe Kynard has earned the distinction of both D2CCA All-Region and CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American, both announced earlier this week.

The Toledo native is a two-time D2CCA All-Region selection as he was named First Team this season and moves on to the All-American ballot.

The Great Midwest Player of the Year paced the conference in scoring at 20.3 points per game while shooting .433 percent from the field.

He averaged the second-most minutes in the league at 35 per contest. Kynard also ranks second in steals per game (1.6) and third in free throw percentage (.861).

Kynard was one of 10 selected to the All-Region team and joins fellow G-MAC standout Hasan Varence of Ohio Dominican, who was selected to the second team.

The accolades did not stop there, as Kynard was also named to the CoSIDA All-American First Team. He represents District 4 in the list of 16 student-athletes, as the only individual from the conference and Midwest Region named to the All-American team.

Kynard is an accounting major and has a GPA of 3.85.
