SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –
By virtue of top-three placement at their respective super regional, a total of 10 student-athletes from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference will compete at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships this weekend.
 
Great Midwest duals team champion Tiffin had five individuals qualify, Findlay had three earn selections and Lake Erie is sending two to nationals.
 
Competition will be held at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center with preliminary first-round action in each weight bracket at 11 AM ET on Friday.
 
A total of 180 qualifiers from four different super regionals qualified for the NCAA Championships with 18 selected for each weight class 125 lb. through heavyweight.
 
Findlay, Lake Erie, Tiffin and Ohio Valley were competing in Super Region 3 at UIndy. Alderson Broaddus was competing in Super Region 1 and Kentucky Wesleyan was aligned in Super Region 4 for the postseason.
 
Tiffin will head into nationals with a team ranking of No. 9 in the NWCA Coaches Poll and multiple student-athletes are seeded in their brackets as they pursue All-American (top 8 finish) and ultimately, national championship aspirations.
 
Tiffin’s Trey Grine is the top seed at 157 pounds and carries a 22-1 overall record while being ranked No. 1 by InterMat.
 
The 2019 197 lb. NCAA champion Nick Mason, also from Tiffin, has missed part of the season with injuries, but will be defending his place at the awards podium seeded fifth in the bracket with a 26-6 record.
 
Mason was crowned the 197 lb. champ of Super Region 3 after earning a pin against Lake Erie’s Chris Droege in the final. Likewise, teammate Christopher Donathan was able to pull of a super region title at 149 pounds.
 
Mason and Findlay’s Devin Rogers were unable to compete at the conference championship duals. Rogers finished third at Super Region 3 at UIndy after falling in the semis to Tiffin’s Donathan.
 
Grine and LaVearn each finished second, respectively in their Super Region 3 brackets. Tiffin's Hayden Bronne, crowned Great Midwest Wrestler of the Meet, is the national pins leader in Division II and one of the most feared draws at the 174 pounds weight class. 
 
Conference co-Freshman of the Meet Branson Proudlock was second for the Oilers after battling No. 5 nationally ranked Kelan McKenna (Notre Dame) in the championship bout at 141 pounds. First team all-conference teammate Zachary Collins advanced by winning his third-place matchup against Ashland at 125 pounds.
 
Conference duals team runner-up Blake Glogouski is going to nationals for the third time in his career joining the junior Droege.
