INDIANAPOLIS – March Madness and the postseason tournament is right around the corner as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Basketball Players of the Week awards continued with Monday’s announcement.
Malone and Ohio Dominican secured men’s and women’s honors, respectively, as the regular season comes to a close.
The point rating system formula will determine the top eight qualifying teams, including the four quarterfinal opening round host sites. All eight conference tournament teams for each gender will be finalized on the last day of the regular season.
The conference winning percentage in the men’s and women’s standings will determine the regular season conference champions, either shared or outright.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Mouliom and the Pioneers are saving some of their best for last, reeling off three victories against programs that will most likely make the playoffs.
Malone helped its own cause in the process, moving up to fifth place with 3.21 in the point rating system. The Pioneers beat No. 22 ranked Walsh, outlasted Lake Erie in overtime and defeated Ohio Dominican. The Pioneers closed them out with each of the outcomes at a three-point margin or less.
Mouliom rose to the occasion by averaging 19.3 points per game and shooting almost 73 percent from the field. The senior made 20 of his 35 field goal attempts.
Mouliom erupted for a career-high 26 points against Walsh in a big-time rivalry game at home, missing just three of his 14 shots tried. He grabbed five rebounds, collected three steals, blocked a shot and had two assists in 39 minutes.
In a three-point win against Ohio Dominican, he was one of four players to score in double figures. Mouliom had 12 points and three assists as Malone shot over 55 percent from the field collectively.
On Saturday, Mouliom had 20 points and four rebounds vs. Lake Erie. He was 8-of-10 on all shots and made four free throws in another very productive 39 minutes on the floor.
He is the second Pioneer to receive player of the week honor this season, joining teammate Jaret Majestic.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Fisher scored in bunches for Ohio Dominican as the Panthers improved to 16-11 on the season with a road win at Ursuline and home victory against Alderson Broaddus.
On Thursday, Fisher blew up for a career-high 31 points. She simply took over the game and caught fire in the second half while accounting for 17 of ODU’s final 19 points in an 88-73 final.
Fisher was 11-for-18 from the field and drilled seven three-point field goals. She also added four rebounds and three assists.
It was the eighth game in the conference this season that someone had scored 30 or more points.
Fisher then flirted with the 30-point mark again vs. AB, shooting 9-of-17 for a game high 28 points. She was accurate from deep again, making six more triples. She also had six rebounds.
In the two games, Fisher averaged 29.5 points and five rebounds per game. She was north of 57 percent on her field attempts and made almost 60 percent of her shots from beyond the arc.
Fisher is currently eighth in the conference in scoring at 15.5 ppg.
