INDIANAPOLIS – Tiffin and Malone split Great Midwest Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week awards as announced on Thursday.

The Dragons had a busy week, scoring a team win over Urbana and then competing at Wooster.
 
Wright was the first diver in the conference to be recognized this season and the Dragons have had a strong showing off the platform after Nicholas Jefferson qualified for nationals as a freshman.
 
Wright competed at Wooster College. He hit the mark 293.75 in the 1-meter competition, which is passing the NCAA Qualifying points score of 285.00.
 
With this score he qualified for what is called Black Tuesday, where all the contestants passing the 285.00 score will be competing for placement in the NCAA Championship and top 18 men and 22 women will continue to dive in the actual NCAA Championships.
 
Wright also broke the school record with his performance.
 
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Abby Reynolds

Reynolds turned in a pair of victories and a second-place finish as the Pioneers battled it out in the pool against Ashland.
 
She won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.86 to give the Pioneers nine points in the team standings.
 
In the 200 freestyle relay, Reynolds was part of the winning team with Denise Quentin, Kinsey Knoch and Macy Williams, as they combined for a time of 1:39.36, second fastest in Malone’s history.
She finished off her strong dual meet performance with a time of 1:04.65 in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall for the second in the race.
 
The Pioneers will be hosting the G-MAC/MEC Championships back in Canton for the third straight year later in Februrary at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
