KINGSVILLE, Texas -
A total of 38 men's and women's qualifiers from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference are competing at the pinnacle of their sport in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships starting Thursday at Javelina Stadium on Texas A&M-Kingsville's campus.

The NCAA DII Outdoor Championships will be streamed live on NCAA.com and a live results link will be available from the official NCAA Division II Twitter handle @NCAADII.

Twenty-five men and 13 women from the league will showcase their talents over the next three days aiming for NCAA All-American and national championship honors.

There is no doubt there is strength in numbers and dual conference coach of the year Jeremy Croy certainly has that depth in his men's program. Fourteen Dragons will be competing in men's events and on paper, Tiffin is primed for another strong run towards a national team title.

Tiffin captured both men's and women's outdoor track and field team conference championship trophies and the Dragons' men are coming off a third-place team finish at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships earlier this year in Pittsburg, Kan.

TU junior speedster Jonte Baker will look to make his mark in two different events having qualified for the 100-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. Baker holds the unofficial title of the fastest man in Division II with a 6.62 clocked in the 60-meter sprint. He will look to enjoy some similar success to finish his impressive campaign.

Also scheduled to compete in multiple events is Findlay's Lenell Shelby III, a dual qualifier in the 110 and 400-meter hurdles. Oilers' teammates Austin Combs and Eldred Henry are also entered in two different throws events along with Tiffin's Eric Jackson.

A trio of standouts will be looking to clear the bar in the pole vault as Cedarville's Tommy Ansiel, Hillsdale's Jared Schipper and Tiffin's Davis Bowers, form an elite group of contenders.

Five different Great Midwest national-qualifying throwers will be skulking the cages in the men's shot put alone and four more help comprise the hammer throw field.

Tiffin's Baker, Findlay's Eldred Henry and Austin Combs, each won indoor national championships in their respective events.

Hillsdale freshman sprinter Kajsa Johansson has been a blur at the conference championship meets and the reigning track athlete of the year will be running in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

It will be the final hurrah for Cedarville's Carsyn-Koch Johnson, a four-time NCAA champion who was just named the conference's female Collegiate Achievement Award winner. Koch-Johnson earned All-American honors in the 800 during the indoor campaign and remains one of the top seeds in the outdoor edition.

Three ladies will be showing off their vertical leap among the best in the country including overall Great Midwest record holder Marisa Gwinner of Tiffin. Gwinner is just a freshman along with rookie teammate and league freshman of the year Nicole Berry, who earned a ticket to nationals in shot put.
