BLUE ASH, Ohio
– At the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Spring Awards Banquet on Tuesday evening, Cedarville graduate track and field student-athlete Carsyn Koch-Johnson was officially introduced as the 2018-19 Female Collegiate Achievement Award winner.

Koch-Johnson is currently traveling to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Kingsville, Texas, where she closes out her fantastic career in the 800-meter run this week.

The Great Midwest Spring Awards Banquet was conducted at Noah’s Event Center as part of the league’s spring joint council meetings.

Koch-Johnson’s career, since 2014 out of Washburn, Maine, has been one for the ages as her name is permanently etched among the conference’s all-time greats in the league’s first seven years of existence.

Johnson’s honors speak for themselves. She was a four-time NCAA Division II champion in the 800-meter distance and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2016.

She has also earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay and helped the Yellow Jackets advance to cross country nationals and bring home three different conference championships.

Koch-Johnson was married in December and continues her postgraduate studies in nursing at Cedarville with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Koch-Johnson has also received the Great Midwest Female Athlete of the Year award two different years while competing in both track and field and cross country.

Koch-Johnson still owns multiple records in the increasingly impressive indoor and outdoor track and field record books. She has been named a conference athlete of the week over 20 times in her career.

Koch-Johnson joins other conference career winners of the award including Trevecca Nazarene’s Kaci Britt Bell (2014-15), Ursuline’s Vanessa Consiglio (2015-16), Cedarville’s Abby Shelton (2016-17) and Walsh’s Sarah Berger (2017-18).
