Great Midwest Schools Release National Signing Day Lists

2.8.19

INDIANAPOLIS – National Signing Day was successful for Great Midwest Athletic Conference football programs as eight teams looked to retool and build foundational depth for their program’s future.

Prospective student-athletes from all points of the country committed for the upcoming academic year and beyond by faxing in their letters of intent. It marks the payoff of hard work from the coaches and the staffs along the recruiting trail.

The Great Midwest will be entering its fourth year of football in 2019 with eight teams forming the league’s standings.

Hillsdale is the conference’s defending champion after the running the tables with an 8-0 league record in 2018.

For two straight years, a Great Midwest team has also advanced out of the first round of the NCAA Championship bracket (Hillsdale – 2018; Findlay – 2017).

Tiffin was the newcomer to the league in 2018; the Dragons forged through signing day with a coaching search underway to replace Gary Goff, who became the head coach at reigning DII national champion Valdosta State.

Kentucky Wesleyan also experienced its first NSD with a new coach at the helm, former UK star wide receiver Craig Yeast. Lake Erie was in a similar situation with the hire of Reilly Murphy as he prepares to enter year one of leading the Storm.
