Sprints
Chattanooga, TN (Chattanooga Christian HS)
Hoffman, also a student-athlete on the Yellow Jackets women’s soccer roster, contributed to a strong team showing at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.
Hoffman blazed her way to a trio of first-place finishes in the 200 meters, 400 meters and as a member of the 4x200-meter relay team.
The freshman clocked a 26.26 in the 200 and posted a 58.64 in the 400, the second-fastest time recorded in the league this season.
She also helped the Yellow Jackets with a time of 1:49.65 in the 4x2 relay along with Amelia Arthur, Hanah Johnson and Emily Kosker.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Olga Branney
Malone
Junior
High Jump
Green, OH (Green HS)
Branney was the conference record holder in the high jump entering her junior season and will need to overcome a pair of underclassmen (Marisa Gwinner – Tiffin, Madyson Plante – Lake Erie), to reclaim her spot.
The junior is trending upward after provisionally qualifying for nationals at the Mount Union Wuske Invite, clearing 1.68m (5’6”) for a first-place finish in the event.
It was just Branney’s third event of the indoor season, but she has cleared 1.60m and 1.63m previously.
Branney’s 1.68m height is a top five clearance in conference history and she ranks among the best in Division II. A total of four high jumpers from the Great Midwest have established themselves as provisional qualifiers.
