INDIANAPOLIS – Nationally-ranked Findlay was the recipient of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week recognition as announced by the league on Monday.
The No. 14 Oilers just continue to win, beating Cedarville and Tiffin in its most recent body of work. UF remains tied for first place in the conference standings with Hillsdale as the Chargers streaked to their seventh and eighth straight wins against the same opponents.
Walsh also has double-digit league victory totals with 10 and Lake Erie has won three straight to move into the upper third of the league standings.
There is plenty of time for teams to solidify their status as postseason hopefuls with the month of February just getting underway.

White, the conference double-doubles leader with 10, added another one to his totals as the Oilers dug in deep for their past two victories against Cedarville and Tiffin.
Findlay remains in prime position to potentially host the conference tournament in Croy Gymnasium for the second straight year and have been ranked by the NABC in every poll during the 2018-19 regular-season thus far.
The most recent ranking, No. 14, has supported the Oilers 18-3 overall record and 12-2 mark in league play.
White averaged a double-double in the two UF wins, with 18.5 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting almost 62 percent from the field.
He recorded his 10th double-double of the year against Tiffin with 18 points and 10 boards and was just one rebound shy of his 11th with 19 and 9.
That kind of production from White has been delivered on a consistent basis as the senior has helped Findlay maintain its status as the league’s top scoring offense (85.7 ppg).
He is currently fourth in the Great Midwest in scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.1 rpg) and his field goal percentage ranks fifth (.521). White is also the league’s second-best shot swatter, erasing almost two attempts per game by opponents.
This represents White’s second conference athlete of the week honor for the 2018-19 season.
