INDIANAPOLIS – The eight-team playoff field is officially locked in as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors were named on Monday.
The 15th week of the regular season saw Hillsdale, Malone, Trevecca Nazarene and Ohio Dominican, all secure postseason bids with March looming.
Three teams have clinched first-round playoff games in the quarterfinals, including league leader Kentucky Wesleyan, Walsh and Cedarville. All three programs have reached the 20-win benchmark for the year and the overall seed, regular-season champion is still up for grabs.
Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week
Anna Hintz
Findlay
Forward
Senior
North Fairfield, OH (South Central HS)
Hintz is as consistent as it gets, hovering around the league leaders in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage, every week of play.
Her soft touch from the perimeter and ability to put it on the floor and get to the rim has helped Findlay once again emerge as a championship contender when March rolls around.
Hintz led all players in the Great Midwest in scoring once again over the past week, averaging 22.5 points and grabbing 7.5 rebounds per game. She contributed two assists and a steal per game as well, all while shooting just under 49 percent on her field goal tries.
The Oilers had a tough one that went down to the wire on the road at Ohio Dominican. Hintz dominated the third quarter for Findlay and wound up with a game-high 26 points and six boards.
In another road game, this time at Ohio Valley, Hintz was just one rebound shy of a double-double as she finished with 19 points.
Hintz showed off her range with six three-point field goals and made all five free throws.
The all-region performer was recently just named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team for District 4 and earned her third athlete of the week selection for the current season.
