INDIANAPOLIS – Two teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference were slotted in the first release of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region men’s basketball rankings on Wednesday.
The Great Midwest, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), are all included in the region rankings. Each conference receives one automatic qualifier spot to the NCAA Championship bracket with five at-large selections allotted to the highest ranked remaining teams.

The Oilers and Chargers have already locked in their postseason bids along with Ohio Dominican, Cedarville and Walsh.
Findlay has been nationally ranked at No. 8 for back-to-back weeks and depending on how the rest of the regular season unfolds, is a contender to potentially host the regional in Croy Gymnasium.
The Oilers (21-3, 14-2 G-MAC) are at the top of the Great Midwest standings and seeking a second straight regular-season conference title.
Hillsdale (16-7, 12-4 G-MAC) will look to halt a two-game slide and the Chargers are currently third in the league standings.
The GLVC staked claim to the first two spots with Bellarmine and Lewis ranked first and second in the region rankings. Ashland is the GLIAC’s highest ranked program at No. 4 followed by Southern Indiana at No. 5.
