INDIANAPOLIS – The regular season has come to a close around the league as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Weeks were released on Tuesday.
The Great Midwest Indoor Championships will be conducted on Friday and Saturday at Findlay in the Malcolm Athletic Center.
Starting with the multis, the race for a women’s team championship trophy will be very competitive once again and the individual accolades are going to be interesting to monitor with many auto and provisional marks falling this year.
Track Athlete of the Week
Brittany Holbrook

Belle Center, OH (Upper Scioto Valley HS)
Holbrook is someone to keep an eye on during the Great Midwest Championships this week after enjoying success in short sprints and relays.
She excelled at the Kent State Tune-Up with a season-best time of 24.72 in the 200-meter dash, a provisional mark.
Holbrook’s time ranks sixth in the Great Midwest record books and she is tied for 23rd when ranked among Division II competitors.
This is the senior’s second time being named track athlete of the week for the 2018-19 season.

Nicole Berry

Pitsburg, OH (Monroe HS)
Incrementally, Berry has been working her way to the top of the record books in shot put. At the Kent State Tune-Up the freshman thrower made a statement.
Berry broke the conference shot put record and established herself as an automatic qualifier for the DII Championships in Pittsburg, Kan.
Her sixth and final attempt was the best one at the meet, as she recorded a distance of 15.64m (51’ 3.75”). She now ranks fifth in Division II going into this week’s conference championship.
Like Holbrook, Berry is a two-time selection as the women’s field athlete of the week this season.
