INDIANAPOLIS – Lingering winter weather interrupted the travel plans of a few teams but plenty were able to take the field as new Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week honors were revealed on Tuesday.

Player of the Week
MaKray Odom
Trevecca Nazarene
Shortstop
Junior
McEwen, TN (Dickson County HS)

Odom, a preseason NFCA Division II Player of the Year candidate, excelled on the field once again this week as the Trojans played three Midwest Region opponents.

Odom improved upon an impressive opening weekend of softball with a .615 batting average (8-13) and six runs scored.

Odom successfully stole all five bases she attempted this week to improve to a perfect 8-for-8 on the season.

The 2018 Great Midwest Player of the Year stole 22 bases all of last season and is on pace to surpass last year’s total before the Trojans begin conference play.

Odom drew three walks and scored six runs in a week in which the Trojans hosted their fourth annual Music City Invitational tournament gaining wins over Rockhurst University and Missouri S&T.

On the season, Odom is hitting .633 (third in the league) with a conference-best 10 runs scored and 19 hits.

Klein was instrumental in the circle to help deliver the first win of the spring for the Dragons against Missouri S&T from the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Midwest Region win was a big one for Tiffin as Klein put her team in position to win with a strong start.

Despite the no-decision, the freshman threw five strong innings in her college debut. She gave up just one earned run on four hits and fanned three.

Klein held Miners hitters to a .211 average and her ERA sits at 1.40 through one start.

Victoria Edwards would finish out the game to become the pitcher of record as the Dragons won 3-2.
