INDIANAPOLIS – The regular season is officially off and running for a handful of teams as the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week awards were announced on Monday.

In the circle, Trevecca senior Savannah Carr led the charge for the Trojans during their weekend trip at the UAH Charger Chillout in Huntsville, Alabama.
During two outings Carr produced 18 strikeouts in 11 innings of work. The Springfield, Tennessee native allowed just four hits in the 11 innings with no earned runs guiding the Trojans to a 2-2 record.
In the Trojans 9-1 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Carr tossed a complete game shutout earning her first win of the season.
Having not allowed an earned run this season, Carr holds a 0.00 ERA with an opponent’s batting average of .103.
Carr and the Trojans return to the Nashville-area this weekend where they host a 12-team tournament in Hendersonville, TN.
Trevecca plays the University of Illinois-Springfield and Rockhurst University on Friday while facing Lindenwood University and Missouri University Science and Technology on Saturday.

Trevecca senior Mary Collins went 7-10 to lead the Trojans offensively during their weekend trip at the UAH Charger Chillout.
Collins collected five of the Trojans nine runs in a 9-1 victory of the University of Missouri-ST. Louis with three RBIs and two runs scored.
During the four-game stretch, Collins hit a home run, triple, two doubles to help lead the Trojans offense.
Collins was 2-3 in games against both Young Harris College and the University of Missouri-St. Louis while she connected for three hits in four tries in the game with Delta State University.
Collins hung the signs for two of the Trojans four games in Huntsville and currently owns a .952 fielding percentage with 20 putouts which is tops in the conference.
