INDIANAPOLIS – Non-conference competition continued right before the Thanksgiving layover as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Basketball Players of the Week were released on Monday afternoon.
 
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Adam Goetz
Kentucky Wesleyan

Senior
Erlanger, KY (St. Henry HS)
 
Goetz averaged 24.5 points per game and shot above 55 percent from the field as the Panthers played against No. 18 Southern Indiana and Oakland City.
 
Versus Oakland City, KWC’s first win of the season, the senior was impressive with 22 points and nine assists, one dime shy of a double-double. He made six three-point baskets and also pulled down four rebounds to go with three steals.
 
Goetz was 8-for-13 on all shots while playing 30 minutes as the KWC offense hit the century mark in the box score.
 
In KWC’s bid to take down nationally-ranked USI in Evansville, the Panthers held a six-point lead at halftime. Goetz keyed the offense with a game-high 27 points and was 11-for-21 on his shots from the floor.
 
He was dangerous from deep again while sinking five triples in 38 minutes on the court. Goetz also handed out four assists and grabbed three rebounds.
 
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

The Panthers had a big week with a pair of victories, including a buzzer-beater off the hand of Macaulay vs. No. 20 Glenville State. It was ODU’s home opener against the Pioneers and the program also recorded a road win at Urbana on Tuesday.
 
Macaulay averaged 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as her jumper was pure as time expired vs. GSC from 15 feet away. The senior made the game winner with less than two seconds on the clock.
 
She also had strong peripherals with nine rebounds and a career-best four assists.
 
It represented ODU’s first win over a nationally-ranked program for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
 
Macaulay also contributed a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, her second one of the season in the 88-82 win against Urbana. She also chipped in two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
 
Combined, she was 12-of-20 from the field for a 60 percent field goal rate.
