INDIANAPOLIS – About five weeks are completed into the 2019-20 season as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week awards continued as announced Thursday.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Jonah Sumfleth

Sumfleth’s superb senior campaign continued as the Dragons went to the Malone Invitational to swim at C.T. Branin Natatorium – the site of the combined G-MAC/MEC Championships.
In the team scoring, Tiffin would finish fourth out of seven total teams in attendance.
Tiffin had 11 first place performances, including six from Jonah Sumfleth. Sumfleth posted individual wins in the 200 IM (1:55.78), the 50 freestyle (21.69), the 100 backstroke (52.27), and the 200 backstroke (1:57.31), while also winning two relays.
He teamed with Yun Hung Tan, Christoph Hohenfeld, and Aubin Dulin to win the 200 medley relay in 1:36.60, and later teamed with the same swimmers to win the 200 free relay in 1:28.70.
This is Sumfleth’s second conference weekly honor of the 2019-20 season already.
Women’s Athlete of the Week

Taylor is the second rookie Charger to be named conference athlete of the week season, joining teammate Leah Tunney.
The Chargers competed against Lewis and Findlay in the Oilers’ home pool as Hillsdale defeated both programs, respectively.
The Chargers toppled Findlay, 110-95, and defeated LLewis, 119.5-89,5.
Marie won against Findlay in both the 50 freestyle, 24.82, and the 100 freestyle, 54.04. She was the anchor for the winning 200 freestyle relay which also broke Lewis' pool record, with an impressive time of 1:39.22.
She was runner-up in the 50 freestyle event and 100 freestyle distance, only behind Lewis’ Ebony McCray in both instances.
The 200 freestyle relay time from Hillsdale was just about five seconds away from meeting the NCAA DII provisional cut time. Taylor swam the last leg while Katherine Heeres, Anika Fassett and Emma Rao, all contributed.
