INDIANAPOLIS – With the playoffs underway, Tiffin and Cedarville shared Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week awards that were announced on Tuesday morning.
The eight-team conference tournament bracket is down to four remaining with No. 1 seed Lake Erie, No. 2 Ohio Valley, No. 3 Cedarville and No. 4 Tiffin, all left for the semifinal round on Thursday.
The NCAA Super Region 3 rankings also continued to have five Great Midwest teams represented: Lake Erie was tops followed by Ohio Valley at No. 3 and Cedarville, Tiffin and Walsh, all in the top 10.
The Great Midwest Championship tournament semifinals will be on Thursday evening in Dayton, Ohio, at Roger Glass Stadium.

On a chilly and windy day, the Dragons received a boost from the senior playmaker to help propel his team into the next round of the postseason.
Magid Sy was responsible for both goals scored as Tiffin edged out No. 5 seed Walsh in last Saturday’s quarterfinal.
Magid Sy gave his team a boost off the bench and scored late in the first half as Leo Hasenstab found him for the opening score.
After Walsh evened things up in the 67th minute, Magid Sy crashed the box on a corner kick by teammate Lukas Manneck for the winning goal as the game looked destined to be headed into overtime.
Magid Sy’s second goal of the game at the 89:11 mark in the second half.

The Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with a victory on the road at Ohio Dominican and eliminated sixth-seeded Findlay at home to begin the conference tournament.
Cedarville improved to 11-2-6 overall on the season.
Defensively, Stephens and the unit was untouchable as the Yellow Jackets pitched shutouts in both contests.
His offensive production was an extra boost as Stephens lifted his team to victory with a header in the 51st minute, just his second goal of the season as a defender.
Cedarville only permitted nine shots against GK Carter Selvius in the quarterfinal victory against Findlay and just five shots against vs. Ohio Dominican.
Stephens has played all 19 games for the Yellow Jackets as the program gets ready to face No. 2 seed Ohio Valley in the semifinals on Thursday.
